Transcript of Video 1 What to Expect in 2022
Hello, welcome, welcome! I’m Marina Ormes, and this is our first video in Countdown to 2022. I’m so excited to be here with you and I would love to hear from you in the comments on what brought you here what your hopes and dreams and wishes are.
What are your hopes and dreams for the world? And for your life, but also as I always say your life is intimately connected with you the role that you have to play as a changemaker on the planet. When you are doing the things in your life that make you feel whole and happy and on a healing path and able to make a difference, then you are fulfilling your role as an agent of healing and being of service to others. What’s good for you is good for everyone and that is why we are here.
I am super excited. This is, as I mentioned, our first video in the Countdown to 2022 series. We will have a new video released every Thursday as we go throughout the coming weeks heading into the new year. Each video will be on a specific topic related to the bigger picture of where we are in these outer planets’ planetary cycles.
We’ll discuss how astrology can guide us and help us see the bigger picture of why things happen when they do and how you know why are we in, for example, a global pandemic. Why do we need to be dealing with the problems of climate change and the other problems that face humanity?
The planets can help us see the bigger picture of the evolutionary process that we are in the middle of, and when we can see that bigger picture it empowers us to take our next steps to take care of ourselves and to continue our healing and evolutionary path—the path forward to living more fulfilling and meaningful lives, while at the same time being here to make a difference in whatever way we are called to.
Today our topic is What Will 2022 Bring? And 2022 is not something that we can talk about unless we are talking about the bigger picture of where we’ve come from and where we are heading to.
So, as all of you are aware, 2020 was certainly a year that will live in infamy, right? It is already in all of the memes and something we already remember historically, even though it was only last year.
2020 astrologically was incredibly significant and was a time that really signifies a shift in where we’ve been and where we’re going and really pushing us out of the nest in a sense. It’s really pushing us to say, “hey you’ve been doing this healing work, you’ve been doing this evolutionary work, and it’s time to really get serious about what needs to change, really, and what that is going to look like.”
Of course it is not easy and we’re going to have to walk through a lot of very difficult things, things that push our comfort zones in a variety of different ways and really help us to come back to what is important to us. Which is why I invite you, as we go through these series of videos, to come back to that place of reflection and connecting with your own truth, your own truth and what feels important true and right to you and what it is you want for the world.
I started doing these events around the new year back in 2012, and you might recall that that there were some prophecies and people are talking about 2012 as being really significant gateway in terms of our consciousness. And that may very well be true because I think that now, on the other side of that were really looking at what it means again, you know, in reality terms, to make some of these changes.
So going back to 2012 I started working with people on setting intentions, and we had—we began with the personal and planetary intention setting—and I invited folks to submit their hopes, dreams, and intentions for their lives and for the world.
The intentions that were shared were beautiful visions of hope of healing, of human beings coming together, of the ways that people could have their needs met, that all people feel important and valued and respected and cared for, and that we don’t have this disparity between the haves and have-nots, but instead we all feel that mutual sense of sharing and caring and coming together to solve the problems that we face to make this work for everyone, and so on.
It came up in people’s personal lives and they shared intentions around what they wanted in terms of healing, in terms of having relationships that that could get healed, you know, long-standing problems could be resolved and solutions found. Folks shared intentions that they could feel in their own lives as though they were valued and cared for and have everything they needed.
It was also really important to people have the ability to move forward from a place of passion and purpose. For many people that means doing the creative work that they feel called to. Maybe they had to always work at a job or make sacrifices in their life that meant that their creative work got put on hold, or their ability to work with people in a way that they knew could help others could be something that just never becomes the highest priority.
When you’re dealing with a lot of survival issues in your life and, you know, survival issues can be as simple as being able to pay your bills and knowing that you’re staying on top of that. It may not be living on the street, although it is for some people…
The point is that when we are focused on taking care of those lower-level needs, and on the Maslow hierarchy the more physical needs, then you’re not… you’re not getting to that place where you’re able to fully actualize your potential, step into your evolutionary and soul purpose. That is what I do as an astrologer is to help people to understand what that purpose is and how to get there…
And that’s the most important part. How do you get from A to B?
It begins with intentions, and we’ve been working on setting beautiful and powerful intentions. I think that sometimes it’s easy in some of the world problems that we’re going through to feel like we have to give up on some of those intentions of hope and those dreams for the future—dreams and hope of healing and sustainability and justice and all the things that truly make this humanity, this experience of being a human being, you know, feel more right and well, so we can be in our wellness.
So as we go through this process we are confronting some of the hard realities that make it feels like you know all that’s just a pipe dream or that’s just a fantasy. I’m never going to get to this amazing thing that I can imagine and envision. That’s why part of the reason I am doing this series is I want to reconnect you with those hopes and dreams and intentions, and with an awareness that you actually are on the path. You’re doing it. This is how we get there.
We are creating these beautiful, beautiful visions. Even now, even as we go through the hard experiences of pandemic, of lockdown, of confronting some of the ills of society and coming to really have some of that stuff in our faces more. It is important as we go through this process to have those things in our faces more, and it’s part of the evolutionary process and we can see that through the context of what the planets revealed to us.
So, for instance, in 2020 we did have a triple conjunction of Jupiter, Saturn, and Pluto all in Capricorn and I was talking about that in 2019. As we did our—the first of these series—was the Countdown to 2020. We could see, I could see and other astrologers were watching this as we headed into 2020, “oh, we’re going through something. We’re going to go through birth canal of sorts.” And this is what 2020 felt like—that we were being squeezed from all sides.
Astrologically, we had three planets going through the restrictive sign of Capricorn. Capricorn is conservative. It is limitation oriented. It is rule-bound. It deals with challenges.
And we’ve had, ongoing since Pluto went into Capricorn in 2008, we’ve had these background themes of, really like a bulldozer, Pluto coming through our systems or structures are institutions and just say, “okay that’s not going to work, that’s not going to work, that’s not sustainable…” And it’s time for the update, so here we are.
We went through 2020 with all three planets coming together conjunct Pluto—well, with two planets conjunct Pluto—and Saturn in its own sign. Saturn, the planet of constriction, restrictions, mortality, and limitation is in the sign that emphasizes those qualities. Then Jupiter being the planet of abundance and faith is also being squeezed through this birth canal of pressure of restriction.
You feel like things were okay, but now we are going to take that away because you really need to come back to this place where you are centered in what is truly important.
So we went through the triple conjunction in Capricorn in 2020. There were other faster moving planets like Mars involved. Uranus was involved, and we moved into 2021, of course, the year we are finishing now. 2021 was characterized by outer planets aspects specifically Saturn and Uranus in a square; with Saturn in the sign that is ruled by Uranus and Uranus in the sign of Taurus, which is also very earthy, very much having to do with the physical world.
These energies have been facing off and on as I was looking ahead from 2020 to 2021 what I could see was that we were going to be heading into a time where there was a focus on the future and a focus on new solutions. New ideas come through with the Aquarian energy of Saturn and Jupiter moving into Aquarius. We had the conjunction of Saturn and Jupiter in Aquarius on the Winter Solstice of 2020 so you know—boom—here we are.
It is like opening up to a revolution… and also an insurrection. So all these energies are happening at once. There is the energy of truly addressing very long-standing deep rooted racial inequities and social inequities based on different group of belonging to different groups based on your race, heritage, economic status, etc. This expansion of awareness started with the George Floyd protests that were happening during the spring of 2020, which was when Saturn first went into Aquarius, so it’s like, you know, you can’t make this stuff up.
Astrology doesn’t predict exactly what will happen, but it predicts the energies. So as we we’re heading into 2021 what we could see as astrologers is that there was going to be more of this focus on justice and equity and what works for all human beings. And what we’ve seen is that there’s more awareness of that culturally showing up more of it being talked about in the open. People are really reflecting on their own lives, their own patterns, their own choices, biases, etc. and that’s all part of that Aquarian energy showing up and saying, you know, what does it really look like to belong, to have everyone taking care of, to be having humanity really in a better place.
And of course we also have had this, like, radicalization of conservative factions and the… It’s just the way that these energies are interplaying through the square between Saturn, which is the planet of conservative and restrictive energy being in Aquarius (which is like outside the box, out of control in a way, it’s about freedom and sudden change, and earthquakes and lightning bolts and things happening from out of the blue) and so the energy of an insurrection was there and it is this sort of radical action that is threatening democracy, frankly.
Then at the same time we have this cultural greater awareness with what I would guess is probably the majority of human beings who are actually waking up, who are actually saying, “well, you know, I really do want to treat my neighbor better. I really do want systems that work better for more people. This is this is really unfair and I’m willing to stand up and say something about it.”
We also have this whole thing about the pandemic, and our freedom. You have this notion that a pandemic, which represents mortality with Capricorn and Saturnian energies, and then you throw in this rebellious Aquarian energy, which feels like, “don’t make me take a vaccine, don’t make me wear masks…”
That’s just how the energies are playing out. I’m not talking in terms of right and wrong, I’m just saying that this is how these energies are showing up.
So what does it all look like as we head into 2022? With the Saturn and Uranus square that has brought pressure to really see what is what is needing to change and how to bring about change and to really access some outside the box solutions maybe some new technologies, some new ways of thinking about things, of looking at things. I think that on the grassroots level there actually has been an explosion of new ideas. Some community organizing and new ways of approaching things and people talking openly about restorative justice as opposed to you know a criminal penalty system and things like that.
That’s also very Aquarian and it’s important. So as we made this shift from the triple conjunction in Capricorn, you know, we can also go back to the 1960s and the conjunction of Uranus and Pluto and the seed that was planted at that time and that bigger cycle…
We’ve also got Neptune cycles and all these other bigger picture cycles, and by the way, if you’re interested in bigger picture cycles, and you might want to check out my eBook is available on my website. There’s a bonus workshop that goes along with it. Just go to astrologyheals.com and click on the product tab and you’ll see the eBook Secrets of the New Paradigm there that can tell you more about the 60s and where were at now and what the invitation is these bigger cycles if you want to look at this more deeply.
Anyway, as we go into 2022, this square between Saturn and Uranus is going to be slowly moving away from exact, meaning that it will continue as the planets do when their forming their outer when outer planets are forming aspects, they tend to move in and out of exact because different ones are retrograde at different times. So it might pass by exact then go retrograde and then go forward again, getting closer then getting farther apart, and eventually they need to move away from that aspect heading toward the next aspect in the cycle.
So we’re going to be moving away from this square between Saturn and Uranus, some of that pressure is going to be easing up and it will be letting go, but it is still there and still could be moving a little bit in and out, and we still have Saturn in Aquarius all year next year. We still have Uranus in Taurus all year next year so it can in many ways bring more development of what we have been seeing this year.
Let’s take just a minute to look at what that means for you and what’s coming up for you, but also what we’re going to be looking at in future videos in this series.
The eclipse season that we are in currently… Eclipses come about every six months when the when the Moon is in forming its New Moon or Full Moon in the same plane as the earth’s orbit around the sun so that were able to see the shadow cast and that is just as kind of a special time of alignment.
So not only do we have a New Moon or a Full Moon, but an eclipse kind of opens a gateway of energy. Often times eclipses are times when we experience something new coming into our world, something shifting, something changing, new awareness, something beginning, and so on. Some eclipses are more powerful than other eclipses and some eclipses are more powerful for some people and other people. It just depends on how it lines up for your own personal chart.
This last month we had a Lunar Eclipse in Taurus in November and now, on December 3 which is tomorrow as of the release of this video, there will be a Solar Eclipse in Sagittarius. These eclipses fall in the middle of these bigger picture astrological cycles that we’re going to be looking at in these videos.
We’re also going to look at Neptune in Pisces and what it means when Jupiter passes Pisces next year. We’re going to have a conjunction of Jupiter and Neptune, and all these bigger picture cycles are ongoing in developing and evolving as they do.
Partly this is just about realizing, you know, healing this stuff takes time. We wish we could just snap our fingers to get to the end but it does take time and the reason it takes time is because it needs you to do your part and so you get to experience these things as they evolve and change, and you get the chance to show up for it.
Sometimes it is stressful. Sometimes it’s frightening. Sometimes it’s sad or tragic and all of that is part of your own story. Sometimes there is a breakthrough. Sometimes it is amazing. It’s all about what are you learning and how are you responding in the context of these bigger picture energies that are evolving.
So first of all, congratulations for being here. I think right now, like, we should all celebrate just being alive, being as functional as we are, and being where we are, doing what we’ve done. Some of us are dealing with grief and loss and so that’s part of the journey.
So when the Lunar Eclipse in Taurus happened for us in November, that was, the date was November 19… that activated deeper themes, emotional themes, things that are being processed under the surface, things that are evolving or coming to your awareness and being felt, a lot of feelings. Because with a Taurus Full Moon there’s a Scorpio energy of the Sun in Scorpio and dealing with themes below the surface.
There’s also the Taurus energy of physical embodiment and physical awareness. It’s about perceiving the world through the senses, so instinct and gut feelings and just kind of dealing with that deeper more primal level of what it means to be alive, how you are responding and processing what’s happening around you.
You need sacred time and space for yourself to be able to do that processing, and you might still be in that energy, it might continue. Then as the as we move into the Solar Eclipse in Sagittarius we’re moving into this more expansive energy that is a more hopeful energy. It has to do with the story we are telling.
So we went through the Lunar Eclipse from November and may still be processing perhaps some deeper awareness and feelings below the surface. Now that gets to move into the Sagittarius eclipse with a new narrative and new way of telling the story of your life.
You might be uncovering new ways of describing your problem or the problems of the world and new ways of framing things that allows you to be on that more hopeful trajectory of, like, “oh yeah, I mean that was awful, yes that thing happened, but look at where we are now. Look what we’re doing with that. Look how we are taking that into our hands and seeing it as a call to consciously shape the future and to get involved and to make conscious choices.”
Maybe that is in your family and finding the words to speak your truth. Maybe you are finding a way to connect with, you know, that one family member or maybe many family members who just don’t get where you’re coming from. Maybe it is finding common ground. Maybe it is finding a common value, something that you both see as important.
Maybe it’s a feeling of making a difference in the world that is getting involved in something that can serve and support and help the healing process rather than creating more trauma.
And trauma is certainly happening also, and that’s why we need to take care of ourselves so we have to remember that we are vulnerable human beings and that we experience pain and confusion and we absolutely must take care of ourselves.
We must set aside that time to take care of ourselves, and be patient with ourselves as we are moving through this process, which does take time, and honor and nurture yourself because you are the solution.
You are the solution, you. You are walking this path through your day-to-day choices, your choices to care for yourself and to give yourself space and to believe in your creative work and to believe in others that you want to serve and to help. That is the solution.
And of course you don’t have control over some of the things that go on in the world, but you do have the ability to make a difference within your sphere of influence and when you do that you lay that—plant that seed, lay that foundation. You support that field of positivity and healing and hope and promise that my subscribers wrote to me back in 2012 about their beautiful visions for the future and what they could imagine.
So it is finding a place of coming back to connection with what that is for you. What keeps you going every day, why you’re doing this, who you’re doing this for, and how you want to make a difference and affirming that as you go throughout this day and this process is what it’s all about.
So let’s take a quick peek at what we’ve got coming up in the rest of this video series. Next week we’re going to be diving in with Pluto in Capricorn. Pluto in Capricorn will help us understand why everything is falling apart, why that needs to happen what’s going on, where it’s going to be heading and what to look forward to as we head into Pluto in Aquarius.
Pluto will be going into Aquarius in 2023-24, so what does that look like and what we do in 2022 to complete this work of Pluto in Capricorn? Because it is an opportunity to really lay the foundations and to the deeper inner work that is going to serve that future as Pluto shifts into Aquarius, so next week’s video, December 9, will be on Pluto in Capricorn and Pluto in general.
On December 16 we’ll be talking about the Saturn Uranus square, what that means and shaping the future through authentic action. On December 23 we will look at the Neptune Jupiter conjunction next year and Pisces what Neptune and Jupiter in Pisces looks like and how that informs our understanding of humanity and where we’re heading.
Then finally on December 30 we will look at your evolutionary medicine and talk about my favorite topics, your Lunar Nodes and how to be an agent of change in a changing world and what that looks like for you.
So stay tuned and come back to this event page. All videos will be posted here. Thank you so much for joining me. I will see you next time. Bye for now!
